At Mahjong Art, we are about celebrating memories of playing Mahjong with family and friends. Our art reflects this vision. Mahjong brings people together to share happiness and laughs.
At Mahjong Art, we are passionate about calligraphy and playing Mahjong. Our art reflects this great passion. Each painting is unique and one of a kind. Completed with Chinese Ink, Mont Marte and Chinese brushes and Mont Marte paper. Each unique painting is A3 297 x 420.
Anabel Curphey was first introduced to the art of Chinese Calligraphy in Taiwan back in 1998. It was not until 2010 when she first began practicing calligraphy while studying a degree in International Studies at RMIT University. In order to memorise the Chinese characters, she would paint them over and over again. In 2024, Anabel Curphey took a business trip to Taipei and packed all her calligraphy equipment. With encouragement from her business partner, she began painting again. In early 2025, after a particularly successful night of winning with great tiles. Anabel Curphey decided to celebrate her love for Mahjong with an art collection. We hope you enjoy the collection. A reminder of happy memories shared playing Mahjong with dear friends.
Anabel Curphey travelled to work in China in 2001, during this time in Guilin she was introduced to Mahjong. It would not be until 2022 when Mahjong again came into her life. This time around life was not so busy and once the Mahjong set was purchased, she began playing regularly with old friends and then some new friends.
